Let's determine the latest time Emily can leave her mother's place and still arrive at the meeting location 10 minutes before the meeting starts.
Emily must reach the meeting location by 2:50 pm, so she needs to leave her mother's place 25 minutes before 2:50 pm. 2:50 pm − 25 minutes = 2:25 pm Emily must leave her mother's place by 2:25 pm.
