Minute Mystery: The Art Fair

Bite-sized brain teaser to solve in a minute or less.

The Art Fair

An art gallery is participating in a prestigious annual art fair that draws 60,000 visitors each day. Of the attendees, 25% stop by the gallery’s exhibit every day, and about 2% of those visitors decide to purchase an artwork.

How many artworks does the gallery sell per day at the fair?

Solution

Let’s solve the puzzle step by step:

  • Total visitors at the fair = 60,000 visitors per day
  • Percentage of visitors who stop by the gallery’s exhibit = 25%
    • 25% of 60,000 visitors = 15,000 visitors stop by the exhibit every day
  • Percentage of those visitors who purchase an artwork = 2%
    • 8% of 15,000 visitors = 300

The gallery sells 300 artworks per day at the fair.
