Bite-sized brain teaser to solve in a minute or less.

The Battery Swap
Category: Process Logic
You have a flashlight that needs 2 batteries.
You have 3 batteries total, one of which is dead, but you don’t know which.
You may test the flashlight only twice.
How can you determine which battery is dead?
Solution
|
Try 1: Insert Battery 1 and Battery 2 and turn the flashlight on. If it works, Battery 3 is dead. Try 2: If it doesn’t work, replace Battery 2 with Battery 3. If it works, Battery 2 is dead. If it doesn't, it means Battery 1 is dead. |
