Anna is participating in a cooking competition where her final score will be a combination of her performance in two rounds: the appetizer round and the main course round. In the appetizer round, Anna scored 18 out of 30 points, which would count toward 25% of her final score.
How many points out of 70 does Anna need to score in the main course round (counting to 75% of the final score) to achieve a competitive grade of 80 points overall?

| Anna scored 18/30 in the appetizer round. The equivalent score out of 25 would be:
18/30 = a/25 = 15 Out of a total score of 80, the appetizer round counts to 15 points. Out of a total score of 80, the main course round would have to be at least 65 points (80 - 15) So, 15/25 for the appetizer round and 65/75 for the main course round. The equivalent score out of 70 points would be 65/75 = m/70 = 60.67, rounded off to 61 Anna needs to score 61 points out of 70 in the main course round in order to achieve a competitive grade of 80 points overall. |
