A snail is at the bottom of a 10-foot deep well. Each day it climbs 3 feet but slides down 2 feet at night. How many days will it take for the snail to get out of the well?

Solution

Net gain per full day = 3 feet - 2 feet = 1 foot.

After 7 days, snail has climbed to 7 feet.
