A fleeting moment of darkness shrouds the ballroom, and when the lights flicker back to life, Lord Splendor is inexplicably absent. Simon, a detective with a penchant for solving unusual cases, steps forward to seek the truth behind the disappearance. Clue:
Simon meticulously follows the trail of clues previously shared, leading him to a hallway hidden behind a movable wall. The hallway is lined with aged portraits, each depicting a member of the esteemed Splendor lineage.
However, upon closer examination, Simon discerns peculiar anomalies within some of these portraits—subtle yet significant omissions of certain features:
Lord Francis Splendor (1618-1677) - Missing right eyelashes
Lord Edward Splendor (1795-1845) - Missing left nostril
Lord George Splendor (1509-1564) - Missing left index fingernail
Lord Henry Splendor (1862-1934) - Missing laces on right shoe
Lord Philip Splendor (1704-1771) - Missing the top button on the shirt
At the end of the hallway, Simon's attention is drawn to one final portrait, marred by greasy fingerprints over certain parts of the subject’s body, hinting at a recent interaction. Below the portrait, streaks on the floor indicate recent movement of the wall.
