Solve mildly challenging puzzles to unlock the mystery.

In the midst of a sluggish day at Dials Watch Co., the proprietor, Mr. Dials, decided to retreat to the back room for some watch repairs. Unintentionally, he drifted into a short nap. Upon awakening thirty minutes later, he recalled leaving his cherished antique pocket watch on a counter in the main showroom. Concerned that someone might have entered during his brief slumber, he discovered the pocket watch missing. With no associates present at the time and lacking functional cameras, Mr. Dials embarked on a frantic search for clues. He discerned several unusual elements:

  • The lingering, distinct musky aroma of a particular perfume
  • A water ring on a counter, presumably from a cold, icy drink
  • A couple of pink rose petals on the floor

Join Mr. Dials as he endeavors to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of his prized pocket watch, piecing together the puzzle presented by these curious clues.

Part Three

This is Part Three of a three-part series. You may choose to first solve Part One and Part Two. Otherwise, you may just solve this puzzle.

Please note: The results from the previous two puzzles may have been shared within the puzzle below.

Clue:

Armed with the available information, Mr. Dials made his way to the police station a few blocks away to report the theft. During his journey, he unexpectedly caught a whiff of the same musky perfume that permeated his shop. The fragrance seemed to emanate from Mr. Fragrance, the bald owner of a nearby cosmetics store and an acquaintance of Mr. Dials. Curiosity piqued, Mr. Dials approached Mr. Fragrance, who was in the process of locking up his cosmetics store, and inquired about the scent.

In response, Mr. Fragrance eagerly shared details about a new perfume scheduled for launch the following week. He explained that he and his staff had been wearing it daily to generate anticipation. Seizing the opportunity, Mr. Dials revealed the theft of his antique pocket watch, emphasizing that the culprit wore the same perfume. Though all employees had departed for the day, Mr. Fragrance graciously displayed their pictures for Mr. Dials to inspect.

Can you examine these pictures and determine which among the employees might be connected to the theft of Mr. Dials' antique pocket watch?

Hint

The two suspects from previous findings were a blond-haired woman and man with salt-and-pepper hair.

Solution

All three employees are female, which means the man with salt-and-pepper hair didn't steal the watch. The woman who bought the pink roses was blonde-haired, which means the woman in the center stole the pocket watch.
