Franny, the assistant researcher of the brilliant yet slightly eccentric archeologist Dr. Discovery, has been stationed at the ruins of the ancient city of Oddrona for the past two years. Their mission: to uncover a hidden chamber rumored to hold ancient texts unveiling secrets lost to time. Upon returning from a weekend trip to a nearby town, Franny discovers her boss's office in disarray, accompanied by a hurried note on her desk that reads, “Find me if I’m not back by Sunday.” With Monday morning already upon her, Franny fears her boss may be lost, possibly without sustenance. In a state of panic, Franny initiates a search for clues. Can you assist Franny in scrutinizing the clues and guide her in locating Dr. Discovery?

Clue:

As Franny meticulously searches, she uncovers several items previously unnoticed:

  • An image portraying an ancient mural with an inscription in an ancient language carved over 4 pillars, reading from right to left.
  • A note beneath the image reading an inscription, "Jsppsa xli wlehsa ex xli wigsrh lsyv ejxiv qmhhec."
  • An additional image of the Lone Tower of Oddrona placed beside the note.

Hint

Dr. Discovery is in search of a hidden chamber in Oddrona. Could the clues Franny found possibly be the key to discovering the chamber, and precisely where Dr. Discovery went?

As for the inscription, consider the 4 pillars in helping decipher the message.

Solution

The significance of the 4 pillars suggests that the number 4 plays a crucial role in unraveling this inscription. Given the text on the pillars reads from right to left, we could consider moving each letter 4 spaces backward (or to the left) within the alphabet. The inscription would then read:

"Follow the shadow at the second hour after midday."

The clues suggest that Dr. Discovery may have been on his way to the Lone Tower, intending to track its shadow at the specified time, either one or two days ago. That means Franny must go to the Lone Tower of Oddorna and follow its shadow at precisely 2:00 pm.
